Telecom giant Airtel on Thursday announced that its video streaming app Airtel TV will offer free access to live matches and match highlights for the upcoming IPL 2018 and Asia Cup 2018 via the Hotstar app. The move follows the February announcement of the Airtel TV and Hotstar content partnership. Add to that, the company is also rolling out a new version of the Airtel TV app which comes with a dedicated cricket section where curated match content will be accessible. This section will have games and contests with prizes up for grabs.
Hotstar, the OTT app owned by Star India with digital streaming rights for Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches, has a new special pack where it will let users stream IPL and other sports matches live. Hotstar’s Rs 299 “All Sports Pack” will work for all of its live sports programmes. Here’s a quick look at the details.Hotstar will have a Rs 299 pack just for those who are interested in streaming all sports matches live, and this includes IPL 2018. The IPL 2018 cricket series will start on April 7 and end on May 27.  According to Hotstar, after 10 minutes of streaming of an IPL match live, a user will be prompted to sign up for the Rs 299 Sports Pack. If they wish to access more than just sports content, then the user can subscribe to Hotstar Premium, in which case they will be able to continue
Airtel’s announcement comes just a day after Reliance Jio launched a prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 251 for cricket lovers.
To cash in on the popular Indian Premiere League (IPL) season, rival telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have both come up with appealing special offers for subscribers. According to a statement of Airtel, company’s streaming app Airtel TV will offer free access to live matches and match highlights for the upcoming Vivo IPL 2018 via Hotstar. Airtel’s announcement comes just a day after Reliance Jio launched a prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 251 for cricket lovers. Jio’s new ‘Cricket Season Pack’ will offer 102GBs of mobile data for a period of 51 days, along with live-streaming of cricket matches during the IPL 11 season on mobile.
Airtel’s offer for watching LIVE streaming of IPL 2018
Airtel customers can watch Vivo IPL 2018 for free via Hotstar during IPL season 11 which is set to start from April 7. Under this offer, Airtel TV app users will not have to pay the subscription fee charged by Hotstar for watching the IPL 2018 cricket matches, said the company. However, they have to pay for data consumed for watching the matches. Airtel has also rolled out a new version of the Airtel TV app, which will offer a dedicated cricket section, along with ‘all the LIVE action’.  To access free live streaming of IPL matches, Airtel customers need to install the latest version of the Airtel TV app while existing users will receive automatic update notifications, added Airtel in a statement. In another scheme, Airtel’s Rs 499 postpaid recharge plan is offering free LIVE cricket match streaming on Airtel TV app.
Reliance Jio’s offer for watching LIVE streaming of IPL 2018.Reliance Jio’s all-new prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 251, called the ‘Cricket Season Pack’ offers 102 GB of data for a period of 51 days, along with live-streaming of cricket matches during the upcoming IPL season. Subscribers can access to LIVE matches throughout the duration of 51 days. The eleventh edition of the cricket league will be held from 7 April to May 27. Jio’s prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 251 was announced along with a mobile game – ‘Jio Cricket Play Along’ and a TV show – ‘Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan LIVE’
